New Membership

New MembershipsYou must be a member of a club in order for your KA licence to be valid. You can now apply for club membership and karting licence (and even a pit bay) at the same time online on the Karting WA website.

Should you do this, you will most likely be issues a temporary club membership and licence almost immediately. The club membership is provisional, as the management committee has to review and approve all membership applications.

There are a number of categories of membership of Hurricane. These, along with the fees, are listed below.
Family Discount – If more than one member of an immediate family join as ordinary members, one member shall pay the fee in full, the other member(s) shall have their fees reduced by 50%.

Ordinary members
– are allowed to practise and race in competition. If you want to compete, this is the membership you require.
– are entitled to vote at general meetings. Members under 18 yrs of age must nominate another member as proxy to vote on their behalf.
– have the obligation to volunteer at one clubrun per year. This obligation is currently waived for Cadets & Rookies for 2019.
Fees       – Seniors                      $130 per year

– Juniors & Cadets      $80 per year

Practice members
– are allowed to practise only.
– are entitled to vote at general meetings. Members under 18 yrs of age must nominate another member as proxy to vote on their behalf.
Fees – $130 per year, plus $100 duty levy. This is refunded upon volunteering at a clubrun.

Dual members
– are allowed to practise and race in competition.
– are currently members of another kart club who subsequently join Hurricane.
Fees – $130 per year, plus $100 duty levy. This is refunded upon volunteering at a clubrun.

Vintage members
– are allowed to practise and race vintage karts
– are entitled to vote at general meetings only upon payment of an additional fee.
Fees –   $30 per year

$80 per year with voting rights

Associate members
– are people who want to be members of Hurricane but do not intend to drive karts. Parents of drivers U18 who wish to be proxies for their children must be members to be a proxy. This is the membership you require.
– are entitled to vote at general meetings only upon payment of an additional fee.
Fees –   $30 per year
